Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Software Deck Pty Ltd, an Australian company, handles information in NextCoach and on the NextCoach website. It should be read with the Terms of Use and health and AI disclaimers.
Current app data
NextCoach stores your selected goal and focus, daily plans, completion history, normalized training, nutrition and recovery records, exercise history, coaching memories, source attribution, and import receipts locally in the app’s private storage on your device. The current app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, cloud sync, or remote model processing.
NextRep and NextMeal
You can connect NextRep or NextMeal once for automatic local updates when NextCoach opens or returns to the foreground. On Apple devices, compatible apps exchange a limited versioned snapshot through an App Group shared only by Software Deck apps on the same development team. On Android devices, NextCoach reads a compatible app’s read-only content provider, which is protected by a same-signature permission. This connection does not run continuously while NextCoach is terminated and does not upload data to Software Deck or a model service.
You can also share a local NextRep or NextMeal export as a manual backup. The operating system delivers that selected file to NextCoach, which reads it once and applies the same validation. NextRep can contribute completed workouts, readiness, bodyweight, and exercise performance; NextMeal can contribute daily nutrition totals and targets.
NextCoach records which values came from each app so repeated delivery can update safely. Disconnecting NextRep or NextMeal disables its automatic reads and removes only values and receipts attributed to that app; unrelated manual or platform records remain.
Home and Lock Screen widgets
If you add a widget on an Apple device, NextCoach provides WidgetKit with a small presentation snapshot containing one current action, one evidence line, completion counts, and an optional recovery score. The widget does not receive your underlying history and does not use the network. The app and WidgetKit extension exchange this snapshot through the private Next App Group.
Widget content can be visible to anyone who can view your Home Screen or Lock Screen. You choose whether to add or remove the widget through the operating system. The displayed snapshot may remain until NextCoach next opens and publishes a replacement.
On-device intelligence
Deterministic software rules produce current recommendations and reviews. On supported Apple devices, the app can check whether Apple Foundation Models are available. Where enabled in a released version, the app may use the operating system’s on-device model to explain an already-determined result. This availability check and model use do not send coaching history to Software Deck. Android currently uses the deterministic localized explanation while its native Fuse model adapter remains unfinished. There is no remote model fallback.
Automated and AI-assisted output may be inaccurate or unsuitable and is not medical advice. The app identifies its intelligence feature as on-device intelligence, and the health and AI disclaimers explain its limits.
Permissions and network access
The current app does not request camera, microphone, health, location, contacts, notification, broad file, or network permissions. The first-party Apple App Group entitlement and Android same-signature permissions do not expose your records to unrelated apps and do not show a runtime permission prompt. Opening a manual export uses the operating system’s user-initiated document or sharing interface. Before any future sensitive permission, NextCoach will explain the purpose in the app and wait for your action before the system prompt. A feature that changes this behavior requires an updated implementation, policy, privacy declaration, and store disclosure before release.
Deletion
Removing the app removes its local data according to your operating system’s app-data behavior. Device backups may be retained by the platform under your own backup settings.
Website, stores, and messages
The NextCoach website does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts. A hosting or network provider may process routine technical information, such as an IP address, request time, requested page, and browser details, to deliver and secure the site. Apple and Google independently process information when you access their stores or download the app under their own privacy policies.
If you email Software Deck, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond, protect the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Do not send medical records or other sensitive information by email.
Retention, security, and international processing
App records remain on your device until you delete or reset them, remove the app, or your operating system handles them through your backup settings. Contact messages and necessary service records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and applicable legal obligations.
NextCoach uses operating-system storage protections and narrow local-sharing controls, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Store, email, hosting, and network providers may process their own records in other countries under their terms and applicable safeguards. The current app does not upload coaching or health records to Software Deck.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or review by a privacy regulator. Most app records are controlled directly on your device and are not available to Software Deck. Contact us for information Software Deck actually holds. These rights are not limited where applicable law makes them mandatory.
Children
NextCoach does not require an account and Software Deck does not knowingly collect a child’s coaching or health records through the app. A child or anyone who cannot legally consent should use the app only with a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child sent personal information to Software Deck by email, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Policy changes
This policy may change when the app, website, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
